Hartford Hot-Spot Hosts Journey Home Night – Friday, Oct. 23

Journey Home is partnering with Nixs for a great evening of fun and food all for a good cause.  Located at 40 Frontnixs Street across from the Connecticut Convention Center, Nixs is Hartford’s dining destination for modern America small plates and contemporary cuisine. Paying tribute to the Boston Harbor Island, the neighborhood restaurant and bar serves seasonally-inspired fare, capturing the true spirit of New England.

On  Friday, October 23rd join Journey Home at Nixs.  Starting at 4pm, Nixs will be serving a Journey Home signature cocktail and 100% of the proceeds will go back to Journey Home.  Come for dinner and drinks!  And that’s not all — at 10pm, Nixs the restaurant turns into Nixs at Night.  Nixs is known for its festive nightlife.  The DJ will be spinning, the dance floor will be pounding, and all cover charges will be donated to Journey Home.  Plan a fun night out and do it all for an important cause.

New Downtown Cafe Partners With Journey Home

Sure to be a hub for all downtown dwellers, Blue State Coffee celebrated its grand opening on September 29th. bluestate Beyond delivering quality brew, this unique chain creates vibrant cafes that reflect, improve and inspire communities across the northeast. To that end, they choose four local non-profit organizations to partner with for a designated period of time in each of their cafes. Partner organizations receive a financial donation and the support of Blue State Coffee in educating and informing customers about their work.

Blue State Coffee donates 2% of sales  to their partners. Each time a customer makes a purchase, he or she is given a token with which to vote for one of the four non-profits – one of which is now Journey Home. Our donation is allocated based on these customer votes-the more votes we receive the larger the donation!
So visit Blue State at 777 Main St. in Downtown Hartford and cast a vote (or two) for Journey Home!

Employment Program in the Works


As an organization committed to sustainable solutions, Journey Home is putting an increased focus on employment this year. In addition to our Aerospace Employment program, Journey Home is now working to develop a universal processes that simplifies and removes some of the most prominent barriers for those who are looking to build self-sufficiency and re-enter the workforce. Forum Brings SOAR Initiative to the Forefront

Ending chronic homelessness means tackling the issue from every angle. Even with improved access toSOARum housing, employment and support services, there are those whose physical and mental disabilities will inhibit their ability to gain employment and independence.
